Favorites By Genre

If you ask a bookie who their favorite book or author is, you're not going to get a quick, definite, straight up answer. And if you do, that person is a poser, not a bookie. By definition, bookies are lovers of books and if you love books, I mean really love books, you have dozens of favorites. If you're me, you have hundreds of them. Anyone peeked at my Goodreads lists? I have favorite "when I feel punchy" authors, I have "I want to be her" favorites, I even have "bitch drives me crazy but I love her" favorites and "I totally forgot about him!" favorites.

Who's tired of typing favorite? This girl. But I'm not 17 so I don't do fave.  You're welcome for that.

Were the question asked of me, "Who should I read for some good suspense?", right now I would hem haw around before landing on Steig Larsson (ya know, in case you've been in seclusion and haven't read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) or Sandra Brown (Mean Streak was my most recent Brown read).

You want my go to down and dirty romance where all the characters are actual grown ups with jobs and shit? Kristen Ashley's Colorado Mountain series. All of the before mentioned gone bad, turns into kick your ass revenge? Suicide Princess by Anthony Bryan. I'm still not over that one.

Perhaps you like a little history with your science fiction. I'll never stop telling people about Forever by Pete Hamil. It's.... devastating.

Want to die a little inside? Like it when a sadist author breaks your heart for zero reason that you can figure? Read Taking Chances by Molly McAdams. I hold onto grudges like a life vest so  I still haven't read another of her books. Fool me once and all that jazz.

When someone says to me, I finished this series and I need another good one, I could honestly go on for hours. Creepy hint of the paranormal crime solving? Charlaine Harris' Harper Connelly series. Straight up crime solving, bad ass female lead, tad of romance? Fatal series by Marie Force. Same but featuring a male lead? Liam Campbell series by Dana Stabenow.  The Kate Shugak series, Carl Jacobs series. Jack Daniels series. Harry Bosch, Scarpetta, Winston Garano series. See? told you. I'm forcing myself to stop. It's hard, y'all.

That should be enough to get you started.
